Update- In spite of our low attendance at church, we have had several visitors as a result of our soulwinning. Almost all of them have been saved, and some have decided to get baptized. Others have brought guests to our Sunday evening services. As a result, some of our faithful people are revived and now desire to work more to see better results in the people that keep coming to church.
We also want to ask you to continue to pray for us and for some needs we have at the church- such as church property, chairs, and a big tub for a baptistry. Also pray for the church's growth and for my wife's health. |
Conversion Experience
I was saved at the age of 14. As young as I was, I already had problems of alcoholism and was a very rebellious boy. But my mother did not lose hope for me to change. On Sunday, April 7 th, 1996 she invited me to a Baptist church named “ Philadelphia.” With much hesitation, I accepted to go. That night I heard the salvation message and received Christ.
My wife, Verónica, grew up, unsaved, in a Presbyterian church. At the age of 16, she stopped attending because she knew the church was teaching ideas that contradicted the Bible. Later, some relatives and acquaintances began to invite her to Mount Zion Baptist Church. On September 15 th, 1995, because of very difficult family problems, Verónica decided to visit her relatives, and they presented the plan of salvation to her. That night, she accepted Christ. After that day, she began to attend the church and found that there, the Bible was preached and taught.
Calling and Preparation
In 1997, I had the opportunity to attend a Spanish Revival Fires conference in the city of Campeche. I heard Dr. Elmer Fernández preach. That day, God touched my heart. I resolved that I had to serve God, and I surrendered my life to serve Him full-time. The next year , Verónica heard Dr. Jack Hyles preach in a Spanish revival conference and surrendered her life to serve the Lord full-time. We both graduated from Bro. Wynne’s Bible college.
The Field
We serve God in Kanasin, Yucatán. This is a city with about 42,000 people, also counting its different suburbs. Kanasin borders with Mérida City, which has a population of about 1,000,000. We are currently working to start a local church in Kanasin.
